Another Handy Trick

I've always wanted to know how to embed YouTube videos into PowerPoint presentations rather than having to work with links or otherwise moving out of PP--just too clumsy and distracting. So this morning I discovered a very easy, if not intuitive, method to do just that. Here's a video explaining the process:

Here's to (less boring) PowerPoints!

Thank you so much for finding this! I watched it and loved it. I am like you, where it would be easier to put it in there instead of linking and having a separate screen appear. This is awesome. You found a very informative video that is very clear to understand and to follow. I really like how the gentleman narrating spoke about the abilities it has and was honest with what it worked and what did not. I actually gave it a try on my power point equivalent (I use open office because my computer runs Linux and not Microsoft) and I was sad that it did not work. But I actually guessed it might not because he specifically states that this method only works for Microsoft. Even with that, it actually gives me something to go looking for because I am positive that someone has written some program for open office to do this. Again, thank you for sharing this. I really appreciated learning about this because every now and then I get Microsoft Office put on so I can use the functions of Excel but now I might want to have Power Point put on just so I can do this! Wow, knowing this earlier would have made my previous presentations in other classes that much better because I wouldn't have had to minimize the Power Point, maximize the window the link created and then reverse it all just to get back to the Power Point! Thank you so much again!

Jan,

This is very useful information to know. I wish I knew it when I was working on my copyright PowerPoint. Unfortunatelly, this will not work on the Mac which I use at home most of the time. I will have to give it a try when I am using the PC. You have always had so many interesting things to share. Keep it coming.
